The visit of Deccan Plateau Vineyards arranged by SCHMTT to explore and gain knowledge of the Vineyards & wine Making Techniques and understanding the process of wine starting from Harvesting to bottling and co-ordination between the Field employees and Processing unit. Deccan Plateau Vineyards is exporting their wines in France, USA, Germany & Italy to gain profit & create brand in world market.
Deccan Plateau Vineyards are spread in 100 acres of space where they grow grapes & sweet corn. Students learn how to grow grape tree there harvesting, Crushing techniques, fermentation methods, maturation period & bottling.

It was judged by professional chefs from Nestle and Mrs Shalini Nair , Dr Ketaki Kulkarni of Suryadatta Group of Institutes.
The competition provided a crucial platform for the chefs of tomorrow to showcase their skills . It's an experience like no other that offers the opportunity to connect and learn with a national network of inspirational professionals, with the chance to compete for an unforgettable prizes and certificates.
Cooking competitions are exciting and fun to watch because of the suspense and wonders of what might something taste like.
A timed cooking competition can encourage students to produce their best results in a timely manner.
Students of SCHMTT competed with each other and each student was guided by a professional chef to keep them on course. Each candidate prepared a dish using Nestle Products.
At the end of the challenge, each candidate was presented their finished meal to the judges. A bit of creativity and showmanship in the presentation made the difference in a close race. Finally the students were debriefed on their culinary skills , presentation skills and best use of Nestle products.
This gave students feedback on what to do better with their cooking because the food is being judged by professional chefs.
To add value to the knowledge and the current situation regarding Hospitality. Students of Suryadatta College of Hospitality Management, Travel And Tourism has visited for the specially arranged demonstration of Sushi and Memo on 23rd January 2018. Mr. Aroop Chatterji Food & Beverage Manager has inducted students about the Hotel’s Food & Beveverage Operations. Chef Tenzin Nayndak Executive Sous Chef (Specialist in Pan Asian Cuisine) has conducted demonstration on Sushi and Momo, he is kind enough to brief each recipe step by step.
Our students learnt the process of sushi & momos making, different equipments used, different types of machinery & moulds used, types of exotic ingridients like nori sheets, wakame, wasabi, smoked salmon, pickled ginger, sauces used etc. The students also learned the temperature & technique of rolling the sushi and its names like nigri sushi, osomaki sushi, sashimi and also different shapes and types of momos . After which the students were given an opportunity to roll sushis and momos and for tasting as well.

Schmtt as arrange guest lecture on coffee as apart of extra curricullum activity to enhance students knowledge related to coffee and coffee outlet operation management.

International Women’s Day (IWD), also called International Working Women’s Day, is celebrated on March 8 every year. In different regions, the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women’s economic, political, and social achievements and empowerment.
Suryadatta Institute of Hospitality Management & Travel Tourism and had organized a Bakery Workshop for Bavdhan village Housewives at Hotel management campus, as a part of suryadatta edu-socio initiative (women empowerment).

National Service Schem Volunteer students also had learning lesson on conducting event and had great learning experience, where as participant women learnt various cup cakes, cakes and cookies and assure that they will make at home as well.

Students staff and faculty members fromSCHMTT and other colleges has taken part in blood donation and has donated blood responsibly. SCHMTT every year organises blood donation and Health Checkup camp and students take part volunteerand serve nation as a responsible citizen.
SCHMTT promotis various social awareness programmes and sensitizing and educating its students to be good corporate citizens. Every year, a minimum of 3 to 4 such programmes are organised. GHRDC Times (Global Human Development Centre New Delhi) recently published their annual survey of rating and ranking of Hotel Management, Law and architecture institutes across India.
This three profession today form the holy trinity of specialized professional courses available in India and has become amongst the leading choice of career for the lacks of students every year.
The main variable for selecting colleges for survey were track of growth and rapid changes in all spheres of activities to cope up with the challenges of ever evolving global economy. GHRDC has handpicked only 42 colleges against such criteria from Hotel Management sector for further evaluation.
After selecting such institutes, imparting education in hotel management, the next phase was rigorous verification, both quantitative and qualitative of entire data, information, and checks and cross checks, followed by supplementary questions, visits to institutes for validations, analysis of findings, interaction with senior management of college along with faculty and randomly selected students.

The parameters were further divided into numbers of sub-parameters (for e.g. placement was divided into percentage of placement in domestic and international average pay packages, Return on Investment, Entrepreneurship, Alumni network, Industry interface, SSR, Networking, etc.) Ms. Mekhla Sinha E.D. of GHRDC said that the institute selected by GHRDC are doing great job in domestic and international placement and giving joy of exposure to its students to entrepreneurship and “start up” project. The purpose of the survey is to guide the students to select right course, the right university and right institute for themselves Abundance of career choices and influx of huge quantum of data / information, tends to confuse the students. She hoped that this survey will help to have crystal clear clarity for the students who want to have thriving career in Hospitality Industry.

As a part of curriculum SCHMTT has organized industry visit to Sula winery for the BSC HS SY & TY students to enhance the wine production knowledge and to explore the exciting career in beverage industry.
Sula Vineyards is located approximately 230 kms from Pune. It is a perfect getaway on a Weekdays for students educational visit of acres of land with wine grape plants, a wine factory and wine tasting. Iternery for visit for a day winery tour, wine tasting, at their rooftop restaurant as well as restaurants Little Italy and Soma which is adjacent to the main building. It also houses an amphitheater and landscape gardening which can become an alternate picnic spot.
A guide met us at the ground floor reception who gave us a brief history of the company and then took us through various steps of wine making, tank maturing, barrel maturing and procedure for bottling, etc. in the factory located behind the main building. Towards the end, he lead us to a large hall which has on ambience of a vintage bar with wooden barrels as the theme. Here, we were given a brief understanding about the types of wines and also we got to taste white, red and rose wines.
Outcome - Students learn wine grape growing process, grape crushing, fermentation and storage of wine. had very good experience of Winery visit as it was live demo for them how wines are made and how vineyards are maintained and they understood complete processes of Vinification. The visit was worth even it was time consuming for traveling.

Suryadatta College of Hospitality Management & Travel Tourism, Pune organizes study tours for its students at Independence Brewery Mundhwa Park, Pune.
The aim of visit is adding value to the Curriculum, as on site visit makes better learning experience.
On 12th February 2018, the first year and Third Year students of BSc Hospitality visited Independence Brewery which is located in Mundhwa, Pune. Independence Brewery is a pub brewery manufacturing a comprehensive variety of gourmet and craft beers .The process of manufacturing beer at this brewery is similar to normal beers.
Mr. Vinayak, the General Manager welcomed the students and guided to the brewery and introduced to Mr. Pruthvi Brew Manager. He showed them basic beer ingredients which they import from Belgium, students also seen various cereals used for preparing beer. Students had visited the complete brew system and witness the step by step beer making process. From selection of Grains, crushing, boiling, fermentation to draft system.
The students were happy that they had been given the opportunity to experience the beer manufacturing process and to actually see the ingredients like hops and barley of which they had only seen the pictures.

Brew Master has showed various types of beers and explained the types of beer and technical difference between each other. He explained the difference between bottled beer and freshly brewed beers.

At the end of the Tour, the students asked Mr. Pruthvi and Mr. Vinayak questions which they answered with patience and also told the students that “to be successful in the industry they have to work hard and be enthusiastic about their careers”.

Suryadatta College of Hospitality Management And Travel Tourism, Pune has taken participation in National Swachhata Pakhawada, under this activity students were participated in in-house cleansing activity, in which students cleaned their own college campus, local public areas, plastic collection. Swacchata Awareness rally conducted at Chandni chowk to Bhugao by BSc HS 2nd year students. Students took pledge towards cleanliness and awareness.
